Who are we?
We are a group of local residents who came forward when LCC announced they were withdrawing funding from many of their libraries which included our library here in Crowland. This would see the library building sold and the service become a fortnightly mobile provision.
To enable us to raise funds and apply for grants we have registered Crowland Community Hub as a Charity. Our Trustees are;
Heather Beeken – Library Manager
Being a retired primary headteacher Heather came to us fully equipped to run a smooth and efficient library service. She has kick started a range of activities alongside the more general library based activities including a childrens’ Lego club and more recently a Backgammon club both of which are growing in popularity weekly.
Shop Manager – Jackie Sherriff
Becoming a Charity has allowed us to embark on a range of fundraising activities and open Togs ‘n’ Cloggs in South Street from where we sell anything wearable. All proceeds from the shop go to keeping the Library open and the building available for community use.
