Crowland Community Hub - Engaging with our local community.

The Community Hub prides itself in offering facilities and services to all the residents and community in Crowland. Our focus is to educate and share our services, which focuses on education, personal learning, recreation, leisure, and social events.

We held discussions with the local preschools in Crowland in November to look at how we could support each of them with an educational project where the children would have clear benefit from the projects. Each preschool we spoke to were allowed to choose resources that would be a value to them and all the children.

On the 29th of January 2025, we were delighted to be able to present, the staff and the selection of children, with their chosen resources.

Abbey 345 chose to create a new library reading area (play pod den) for all ages of children who attend their preschool. This was about creating a positive, fun, and cosy learning environment for them to look at, read and engage with books – a defined link to the literacy curriculum.

Crowland community preschool wanted something that would allow the children to make and create music outside. This preschool selected an outdoor music frame with a variety of instruments to allow the children to make music whilst enjoying the freedom of outside space. This equipment allows for creative musical expression and exploration, using of a diverse range of instruments such as wind chimes, tambourines, and symbols.

Enya’s preschool opted for a range of books to generate a resource library for both parents and children. These books will help parents educate their children and support learning processes. The books for the children will encourage children to be interested in literacy and books, which hopefully will become a lifelong skill.

We are delighted that these resources provided can assist every child in each of these preschool settings giving maximum value to all the children.
